Overview

The course is dedicated to the systematic study of the director's toolkit and the principles by which it is used in the construction of the various structural components of the film work. The analysis focuses on the means of expression that the director has at his disposal within the framework of the cinematic language - how they are applied, how they are transformed depending on the genre specificity and what their impact is on the artistic integrity of the film. Particular attention is paid to the dynamics of these means - their change both in character and in degree of intensity in the context of various genre and stylistic models. The course also examines the most recognizable directorial methods, techniques and approaches through which the visual and dramaturgical structure of the film work is modeled.
